Portrait of a Graduate

Many institutions aspire to produce tomorrow’s leaders.  We share that goal at Saint George, but Godly stewardship grows successively.  First come responsibilities to God, then to our families, then to our community.  May it never be said of one of our graduates that he is a leader in the community, but a failure at home.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom”
Proverbs 9:10

The young men and women who graduate from Saint George should recognize God as the source of all goodness and truth and will conform their lives to His will.  They will love what is good and hate what is evil, evaluating their entire range of experience in the light of Scripture.  Having tasted the sweetness of a true education, our graduates will continue to pursue the treasures of learning throughout their lives.

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
– 1 Corinthians 3:7

When we speak of “producing” or “shaping” a virtuous person, we recognize that it is God who does the true work.  In his sovereignty, God has chosen teachers and institutions as one means to sanctify his people.  We, at Saint George, pray that God uses us to this end.

“By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
Proverbs 24:4

Our graduates will achieve an ordered and sharpened mind.  They will think clearly and articulate precisely.

Through the studies of the liberal arts and the great books, our graduates will have embraced the objective structure of reality and will be equipped to live lives marked by wisdom and virtue.

They should seek the truth in every inquiry, valuing truth over self, and be brave enough to speak it in the face of adversity.

We pray that everyone who has been involved at Saint George would look back on their time at our school with fondness and pride, knowing that it was in purpose and pursuit of the Kingdom.

Graduates of Saint George Classical will be well-prepared to live fully as servants of Christ in college, career, and in all aspects of life.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
